每年农历八月十五日，是中秋节。

Every year, on the 15th day of the 8th month in the lunar calendar, it’s the Mid-Autumn Festival.

这时秋高气爽，月亮格外圆、格外亮，像一面皎洁的玉盘悬在深蓝的夜空里。

The weather is cool and crisp, and the moon is especially round and bright, like a shiny jade plate hanging in the deep blue sky.

中秋节里，家家户户都吃月饼。

During the Mid-Autumn Festival, every family eats mooncakes.

月饼圆圆小小的，象征着团团圆圆。

Mooncakes are round and small, symbolizing reunion and togetherness.

豆沙的、五仁的、蛋黄的……咬一口，甜味满口香。

There are many kinds: red bean, five nuts, egg yolk... A bite, and the sweet taste fills your mouth.

晚上，一家人围坐院中或阳台上，摆上瓜果点心，一起仰头赏月。

In the evening, the family gathers in the yard or on the balcony, placing fruits and snacks, and they all look up to enjoy the moon.

月光如水，流淌在笑语欢颜之间；

The moonlight is like water, flowing between laughter and smiles;

如今也有人喜欢举着手机，拍下这圆满的月亮，把思念与祝福分享给远方的人。

Nowadays, some people like to hold up their phones to take pictures of the full moon, sharing their thoughts and blessings with people far away.

说到中秋，离不开那个古老的故事。

When we talk about Mid-Autumn, we can't forget the old story.

很久以前，天上有十个太阳，烤得大地干裂。

A long time ago, there were ten suns in the sky, burning the earth until it cracked.

英雄后羿射下九个，只留一个给人间光明。

The hero Hou Yi shot down nine of them, leaving just one to light up the world.

西王母送他不死药，却被妻子嫦娥误服，飞入月宫成了月神。

The Queen Mother of the West gave him an immortal pill, but his wife, Chang’e, accidentally took it, flying to the moon and becoming the Moon Goddess.

后羿思念妻子，便在月圆之夜设案遥祭。

Hou Yi missed his wife so much that he set up an altar on the night of the full moon to offer sacrifices to her from afar.

这个故事流传千年，版本虽有不同，可那轮明月承载的思念之情，却始终如一。

This story has been passed down for thousands of years. Though the versions may vary, the feelings of longing carried by that full moon remain the same.

除了月饼与赏月，中秋也是一顿温馨的团圆饭。

In addition to mooncakes and moon gazing, Mid-Autumn is also a time for a warm reunion dinner.

这一天，家人从四方归来，围坐桌旁。

On this day, family members come from all directions and sit around the table.

桌上菜肴丰盛，香气弥漫。

The table is filled with delicious dishes, and the aroma fills the air.

孩子们最是欢喜，帮着摆碗筷，眼睛却早盯着盘中的美味了。

The children are the happiest, helping to set the table, but their eyes are already focused on the delicious food on the plates.

团聚的暖意，如同月光，柔柔地笼罩着每一个角落。

The warmth of being together is like the moonlight, gently covering every corner.
